Indication
1. Stop breathing.
Stop breathing is marked by the absence of chest movement and breathing air flow from the victim. Stopping the breath is a case that must be performed Basic Life Support measures. Stopping the breath can occur in the state of Drowning, Stroke, airway obstruction, Epiglotitis, Over-dose of drugs, electric Stung, Myocardial infarction, caused by lightning and Koma various cases. In early stopping can still breathe oxygen into the blood for several minutes and the heart can still be injected blood to the brain and other vital organs, if the
circumstances are given breathing assistance would be very useful so victims can stay alive and prevent cardiac arrest.

2. Cardiac arrest.
In the event of cardiac arrest, immediately stopping the circulation will occur. Stopping the circulation of this would quickly lead to brain and vital organs of oxygen shortage. Troubled breathing (wheezing) is an early sign of impending cardiac arrest.

Basic living assistance is part of a medical emergency management which aims:
1. Prevent cessation of circulation or cessation of respiration.
2. Providing external assistance to the circulation and ventilation of the victim who mengalamihenti heart or breathing stopped by Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).

Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation consisted of two stages, namely;
-Survey of Primary (primary survey), it can be done by any person (BHD).
-Survey of Secondary (secondary survey), which can only be done by medical personnel and paramedics trained and is a continuation of the primary survey.

Before taking action in advance of primary survey conducted initial procedure at the victim, namely:
1. Ensure environmental safety for the rescuers.
2. Ensuring awareness of the victim.
3. Ask for help.
4. Improve the position of victims.
5. Adjust the position of rescuers.

Primary survey
The primary survey focuses on breathing assistance and aid circulation and defibrillation (if any appliance). To be able to remember easily formulated with the primary survey measures abjat A, B, C and D, namely:
1. airway (airway)
2. breathing (breathing assistance)
3. circulation (circulation support)
4. defibrilation (electrical therapy).

A. (Water Way) Airway.
1. Inspection road blockages napas.Pastikan no foreign body by cleaning the mouth and open mouth with a cross finger
2. Open the airway by head prop gaze upward chin (Head tild-chin lift) and mandibular provocation maneuvers.

B. (Breathing) Help breaths.
1. Ensure the patient is not breathing, by way of chest rise and fall of the movement Seeing, Hearing the sound of breath and a breath Feel the blast victims with a helper hold the ears and nose above the mouth of the victim. This procedure should not exceed 10 seconds.
2. Provide breathing assistance. If the victim was not breathing give two times the help of breath from mouth to mouth, mouth to nose, or mouth to stoma breathing by giving gusts of as much as two kali.Waktu required for a single blast is 1.5 to 2 seconds and the volume of exhaled air is 700 - 1000 milliliters (10 ml / kg BW).

C. (Circulation) Help circulation.
1. Ensure the absence of a victim's heartbeat, by checking the carotid pulse for 5-10 seconds. If the pulses are palpable pulse, rescuers had to re-examine the victim with respiratory maneuver looked up head prop your chin to assess the victim breathing. If not breathing as much as do rescue breathing 10 times a minute for 2 minutes.

2. Giving aid circulation.
If no heartbeat certainly give aid circulation which is called cardiac compression compression emphasis luar.Kedalaman 1 / 3 to ½ thick body. The ratio of aid circulation and delivery of a breath is 30: 2 (one cycle). Perform 5 cycles over 2 minutes, then it needs to be assessed whether or not the next cycle.

If you already have breathing spontaneously and adequately, and palpable pulse, keeping the airway stays open later put to sleep on the victim's position steady.
